Question about node spacing!!

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by HydroGrowz, Apr 9, 2016.

  1. So I'm on day 20 of veg and she seems super healthy. Nice thick stem, nice color, big thick fan leaves... Everything seems to be great considering its my first time... But my concern is this... There is not much vertical growth. Now I have read that this is a good thing BUT, I'm curious if the leaves are too crowded. Some are growing into each other and bending because they have nowhere to go. Also, if you look at the branches that come out to the sides, directly above those branches are new branches, coming out from the same spot on the stem as the first branches... So basically no spacing at all and right on top of each other. I've tried lowering the night time temp to give it a tad more spacing but that doesn't seem to work... Either way, I'm curious to know, is this a good thing? Should I be worried about the leaves that are bending with no room? Or should I let her run her course and not stress about it... Here is some pics.

  2. light in the warm spectrum & raising your lights can make plants stretch, if you want. you could also look into LST and defoliation to make the plant look and grow like you want it to. Good work

  3. Can't stop nature, only throw it a few curveballs and see what happens. Indica genetics are full and leafy as such and while in veg state I would let them do their thing w/a close eye on things. The limbs are more than likely just fighting for light but the deformities are most likely from genetics. If you bought the beans, report your imperfections to the breeder but if it's only one or two...chances are you stressed them into little monsters, lol. Nothing a good foliage trim can't fix a little later. Hope that helped.

  4. P.S. If you really want to stretch the nodes then just throw them under hps instead of metal halide lights. It will work but the less stretching you have the tighter and longer looking buds so you're good. Remember, newbs mistakes are made more often by loving their plant to death rather than by neglect good luck
