Question about new seedlings

  1. When planting new seeds after germination and the green shoots come out of the earth, do they need a lot of light for the first few weeks or does it really matter?

I can only lend one 27w (equiv to 100w Daylight spectrum) CFL to an area of 8 styrofoam cups for three to five, then I will put them outside to grow

My question is do I need a lot of light for these little guys or not, will they be okay to grow for three to five weeks with only 100w of light?

  2. I would say for 8, you would want at least two. Preferably 4 if your wanting it to go 2-3 weeks. As far as light goes, the more the better, I would think stretching would occur if you tried to use just one, but Im not a CFL guy so hopefully one of them can chime in also.

  3. I
was able to get some more lighting in the growbox for the seedlings.

I now have one 27w (Equivalent to 100w Daylight Spectrum) CFL
Three 18w daylight spectrum flourescent tubes.

I have the tubes approximatley 1.5-2 inches away from the sprouts (monitoring very closely so they dont burn)

These sprouts are unlike any other that I've seen before. They are seeds that I harvested from my first grow. They are a cross between BC Big Bud and some random (really really good) hydro. I originally had nine seeds germinated but after planting them in styrofoam cups one of the seeds didnt sprout.
