Need help with the humidity. I had this box started up last Monday and been having trouble on and off with the humidity. I tried adding ice cubes to the box to see if that will bring it up but, nothing happen. so any advice will be great thanks. -Papaya is about one week and doing good. -white rhino is about to sprout and doing fine.
I tried a cup w warm water but that humidity is going down still. The humidity is about 21% and temp. 84.
ive been having the same problem in my rubbermaid grow. short term, spritzing water brings the humidity up but long term i still havent found a solution, so ill be keeping an eye on this
No need for a humidifier, it's your first grow. Just learn from baby steps. If you find you need humidity, fix it on the next go around. Also, make sure you keep a notebook and keep notes everyday. Also, if your going to buy something, I suggested this to another thread and I will to you, upgrade your lighting to T5s, High Tech Garden Supply Trial and error learn from your mistakes. Don't try to learn too much to quick, not everything works for everyone.
^idk wat this guys smokin but to answer what you ASKED yes a humidifier will up your humidity dont let someone else change the way you grow if you feel the need for humidity well in the great name of the lord go get it done
^^ Dont know why this guys seeks out others to criticize, but the advice above him was correct. No real need for a humidifier. If you really want one, go get one, but you really don't need one. Your plants will do just fine if you keep your temps steady. Your plants can easily thrive in those conditions. While I do like to keep my grow space at about 40% humidity it has fallen into the upper 20"s and low 30's with no consequence. And come flowering time, they will love that humidity level. I have a humidifier because I have a few expensive acoustic guitars, and they need a certain level of humidity. But for growing, while 40 - 50% is optimal, don't worry about it being too low, at least for now. But if you can afford the humidifer, and want to up it a bit, then feel free. It definitely won't hurt. Good Luck.
being that he has his set up going and he simply asked about humidity all other input is irrelevant im sure he knows wat you two have said already but if he wants to raise humidity why answer his question tellin him to not even worry about it ???
Because he may be seeking to do something about it thinking his plants will die. So we are here to actually offer help. So yes, it has been pointed out that a humidifier can help, but he should also know not to panic and that things can be ok if he doesn't rush out and get one. Don't know why you are being the answer police. Sometimes there is more than one answer, as there is in this case. So chill, smoke something, and sit back and be peaceful. I have to say, for a MJ forum, there sure are a lot of testy people around here, ready to jump on anyone for a reply they don't think is correct. I thought stoners were all about peace and happiness. I know I am. So I offer everyone a nice toke from my bong, and a canna butter cookie or 2. Lets chill and help each other, and step back from jumping down everyone's throats. Peace.
thanks for the replys back. going tomorrow and get me a humidifier and hope that will work. does it matter if i have my box in my closet and thats why its not getting the humidity up?
