I popped an old, regular seed of Hawaiian skunk haze, just to get back in practice. I used a jiffy pellet, then transferred it to a red solo cup full of nutrient free soil. I went to the hydro store to pick up some nutes, and decided to go with Foxfarm this time. The schedule says to use Big Bloom for seedling and cuttings. 6 tbs per gallon. I divided it into quarts and used 1.5 tbs per quart. I was always told not to use nutes for awhile, just water. Anyways, noticed my seedling has a scorch mark on a true leaf, and the leaves look skinny and folded. Is this a result of the nutes or the seed being really old (+5 years)? Growing under a led with plenty of air flow/exchange.
This is what is used in the veg stage. Bloom food on seedlings isn't going to kick them very hard if at all. BNW
I used this line for 5 years! Pic would help. What soil exactly. Do u pH water and feeds? Sent from my SM-G935T using Grasscity Forum mobile app
So when ur soil is dry ready to water or feed, do this Take a large shot glass of soil from ur plant and the same amount of distilled water and put in a cup. Stir around. Than put one meter in and get a reading. Than the other. So that will give u the true pH of ur soil. The ppms will tell u if ur plants are eating ur feeds or if they are hungry. So if I get a reading of 350 or under I feed. If it's over 350 i water. It's just that simple Sent from my SM-G935T using Grasscity Forum mobile app
If u stay in soil and want to do it where u know exactly what's going on do the slurries Sent from my SM-G935T using Grasscity Forum mobile app
This way u will know exactly if anything is in that soil Sent from my SM-G935T using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Oh dang, I forgot to ph I'll check it when I get home! I've been giving it plain tap water for the last few days, I know the ph runs acidic cause of my aquarium.
I have used fox farms many years. When it comes to seedlings I wouldn't use nutes (if you have good soil) until you have at least three sets of leafs. Also, with concentrates, less is better.
Thanks for the suggestions everyone! My ph was pretty high, around 7.4! (If my ph pen is right, it's a little old). I think my burn mark was from touching the light (cfl). I flushed it with just water a couple of times and it seems to be doing much better!
