Question about evolution

Discussion in 'Science and Nature' started by KirbyPuckett, May 14, 2011.

  1. If you're asking if evolution still happens then yes. We might not physically evolve (much)as we are today, but animals still do and probably always will
Even if humans were still evolving physically at the same rate we believe it usually happens, there is no way we could prove it for a long time because there just isn't enough time to sample in recorded history

  2. Where exactly did dinosaurs come from you very intelligent, obviously more evolved then me, beings? No evidence of them evolving from anything.. wolly mammoths?

  3. I'm referring to new species from the ocean. Shouldn't we see this happen more often? Say, a new species every couple thousand years?

  4. once again, you show a lot of ignorance...theology belief is not related to scientific theory in any way...learn the difference before sticking your foot in mouth.

creationist just can't seem to pull any proof out of their asses, just more spin and subtractive evasive talk based on their bibles theology....could be, that with the heads stuck up there, there isn't room for thought.:D

  5. ^We have a winner

  6. Yea.... real winner. LOL.You all have obviously evolved far away from my species, so I bid you good day. Have fun finding the "truth".

  7. Typical bible thumping spew...'shut up and leave' when they can't provide one bit of proof or understand basic science (it's 'GOD doing it', because they're not intelligent enough to understand the 'magic'...)

here ya go, evolution proof...mankind has evolved, but creationist kinda stopped evolving...

Actually, I have full faith in proven science. It only shows its ("gods"/nature) amazing work. But, I'll just let you scientists keep thinking your finding some amazing truth. You all act like we are more important than nature itself, when it's obvious it's more important than us. It created us, it will survive without us. (when science destroys us all) I realise you think I'm some crazy christian, so let me ask you:

What do you think would happen if we could learn all the laws that created the universe? We would think were "god". Now imagine that power in the wrong hands (you know, terrorists, american government, anyone with the want for power). Boom. Universe (maybe just earth) starts over for another chance. Enjoy destroying us, thinking your solving something. Peace

  9. Seriously man, just read a book. The ones that count, not the book you're probably thinking of..

  10. I don't read forced faith. sorry. I accept my own reality (what I choose is real). If you think that makes me crazy, that is your choice.

  11. yep, par for course, ignore and dismiss anything they fail to understand, because it's "magic"....

If you need an example, the atomic bomb could be the beginning of self-destruction. Free will is perfectly imperfect. It is magic.^ How do you think science disproves a higher powers work? I believe energy forced all these laws to begin. Now, where does energy come from?

It's amazing how you scientists believe your proving something by relying on others faith/"facts"? LOL. News flash. Your only proving it all began by force! Which only helps improve my faith in a higher power. ALL those requirements for life to survive!? Coincidence? HELL NO. MIRACLE. We ALL twist facts to prove our faith. Remember that.

Energy is the measurement of the amount of work a physical system can do on another. Work is known as force there are four of em maybe just one if we can figure out how they are unified.

Energy is simply the other side of the coin from matter, which one came first?

  14. The creator of energy/matter came first. The infinite source. The forces unify by our higher power. ;)

  15. Its something we can never know anyway, unless you believe in divine intervention or something then gtfo

  16. Sorry you disagree with me.. how about you gtfo?

  18. This is the science section buddy, we don't usually talk about mythology here. There is a special section for that

First of all, I'm not christian, so idk why you keep on bringing up the bible? Now, science is ALWAYS right.. I know. How foolish of me to agree with it. LOL. Do you not understand I agree with what is proven? However, I would never place faith in someone elses theory, until proven beyond doubt. Now I ask you, do you think theres a reason things look the way they do, and not how science explains it? Your right though.. I'll leave you extremely evolved beings to exist how your species chooses. Just remember, your evolution from us can, and probably will, destroy yours and my species. (This doesn't mean I think science is evil. I think it has helped technology tremendously. Just in the wrong hands (atomic bomb ;)) it is.) Peace and love guys.

Speciation occurs when a group diverges genetically from a population enough that they (theoretically) cannot interbreed anymore. Evolution is not charmander -> charmeleon

These are the conditions that cause evolution:
    mutations occur
    natural selection
    finite population
not all members of population breed
    nonrandom mating
    unequal amount of offspring
    migration

There are several reasons why speciation has not occurred within humans. One that was pointed out early on is that evolution take quite a long time. Another reason is there has to be natural selection. In our society where we try to nurture everyone, the "weak" stay around and are able to pass on their genes. I could try to think of more reasons if you'd like.

And whats with all this bible bashing? I bet most of you haven't even read an appreciable amount out of the bible. Of course the argument goes both ways...most Christians who bash evolution have never read On The Origin of Species. Evolution is a fact. Drug resistant bacteria is a blatant example of it.

Science and religion can coexist...we just have to stop focusing on the wrong things.
