Quick question Is it ok to combine 2 seperate fertilizers in the same container? Nurtients are 2.0-0-0 and 0-5-4 Jus wanna know if its safe and wont harm the plant to mix the 2 in the same container for feeding. Method previously thought about was feeding one nutrient at a time for a weeks length, then alternating. What would you guys do? Thanks Guys
do not mix into same container as is, you'll get lots of precipitates falling out of the solution making it pretty useless. however you can create a stock solution with both diluted into it, saving you the hassle of having to mix it later. normally i always mix in p based nutes first so mix in the 0-5-4 first followed by the 2-0-0. not sure what you're using and how well it dissolves, but i'm sure you could make the stock solution at least 5x. You can then take 1 gallon and mix it with 4 more gallons to create 5 gallons of feed. off-hand comment, if u are using these two nutes 1:1, you're likely short on N and leaving a lot of potential growth on the table. depends on your light intensity though so you might be fine.
Do not mix. Do not mix. Do not mix. If the nutrient company doesn't include them in the same bottle, chances are good you don't want to mix them together. The last piece of advice you got from another grower is spot on. And do yourself a favor, read the labels of your nutes. Trying to take short cuts never ends well - at least not from my experience. LOL That's why I like Advanced Nutrients so much. They tell you what to do, when to do it, and how to do it. Even then, I use less than they say to because I have the experience to know better. Once you get the experience of growing and you've done a few rounds, then you'll realize why you shouldn't mix your nutes. I mean, maybe it's a good idea for you to try to mix them and see what happens. That will learn ya.
