Question about closed loops and dewaxing columns

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by Timburr, Mar 19, 2016.

  1. I have some questions about a closed loop. I generally understand how closed loops work and how dewaxing works, but in my shopping around for a closed loop, I found a design that I simply don't understand. Out of the recovery chamber are two columns. One column is the material column, and the other is comprised of a jacketed dewaxing column (filled w/ ball bearings) and an inline buchner funnel. The same company sells an almost identical system, but instead of two columns coming from the recovery chamber, there is just one column, with the material column, the dewaxing column, and the buchner funnel all inline. So what is the benefit of having these broken into two columns, and how would the operation of each system differ? I've included links to both the "Stage 1" system and the "Stage 2" system for comparison:

    "Stage 1"
1LB Stage 1 True Dewaxing System - Advanced Extractor Systems

    "Stage 2"
1LB STAGE 2 True Dewaxing System - Advanced Extractor Systems

    Thank you!
