    Qb96 specs

    HLG-320H-54a

    320 watts

    5995ma

    (2) qb96elite v2’s

    2997.5ma per board

    5.995(milliamps)x54(volts)=323.72watts

    323.72/2 = 161.86 watts per board

    Efficacy estimated at 2.4umoles/joule

    161.86w x 2.4 = 388.5 ppf x 2 boards= 777 ppf

    777 ppf / .580 sq/m (2x4) = 1339 ppfd

    77500 lux at 12”

    1339 ppfd / 77500 lux = .017 conversion factor

    *****RESULTS*****

    ***.017 conversion @ 161.86 watts (based on 2.4 umol/j***

    Ppf at 16” above canopy

    48000 lux x .017= 816 ppfd

The efficiency of the driver doesn't come into that equation. The mA out spec of 5.995 is after the loss in the driver. In fact the amps and volts should be measured on the way to the board to be really accurate because the HLG drivers are known to push past their rated voltage by a few volts. That would increase the total wattage out to the board by a bit over ratings on the spec sheet.

The 320h model number represents the watt out capacity approx. The wall draw is more like 340 or so after the loss in the driver.

    DC-side Measurement:
Bro @Hunter2348 turned me on to these dc meters which are very useful for setting dimmers. You could buy one, put disconnect connectors on it’s four in/out +/- wires and on driver/light wires [+ & - off of driver output side (dc) into + & - connectors in center of meter; outside connectors + & - on meter to 96’s (load) + & - ] , for easy hookup/unhook...or buy one for each driver...i got mine on amazon

Hey, make sure it was hlg’s fault b4 bashin, could well be it was the dimmer setup on an “A” driver...let’s discuss on other thread, not this one.

  8. That looks like an LRS driver burnt out. I wonder if your DC motor speed controller/dimmer had anything to do with it. Also if you had a really small piece of wire braiding touch the terminal next to it, it may short like that.

  9. Only the hot side shorted thru wire to meter
    Hlg240h-54a it’s fine
    It’s a 30a motor control I had it to 5.1a
Will look at L.E.D. For they’re 6$ dimmer

  11. Rapidled has them, too (and install vid), your light acted like a fuse/breaker...saved your driver imo

but guys, please do conversation on the other thread.
