QB96 ELITE V2

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by KillaKoala, Jan 4, 2019.

  1. So I recently installed 2 QB96 in my 2x4x5 tent, with a HLG320h-54a driver. Just wondering how high I should have my light from my plants during veg and flowering with these light. Do you guys leave your lights on full power through whole growing cycle ?

  3. You have enough power available to do well in flower, but yes that’s too much power for seedlings and small plants. I don’t have a PAR meter and I hate trying to guess how far to put my LEDs so I veg with a big T5 lamp until they are ready for QBs.

Congrats on the new lights. They are incredible.

  5. I don’t veg with them. I use T5’s to veg as well.

  6. So if all I have are these lights should I just try to estimate the lowest setting ?

  8. They will veg awesome. You may get some stretch from the extra reds but I have to defoliate constantly when flowering under these lights.

I would turn them all the way down and set them 24” from plants.

  9. I have vegged with my QB-96 lights and they do great. I would turn down your driver to the lowest setting it will run at and start your light(s) at 28-30” from the tops of your plants. If your plants seem to like it, then turn up the driver just a bit but leave it at 28”-30”. Slowly crank it up. Maybe SoiltoCoco will chime in. He is good with the 96’s

  14. I would veg them all the way dimmed. At 50% output level which is what the driver will give you with the current dimmer turned all the way down they should cover roughly the same area they would for flower.

I bet they veg just fine. LED's, even with reds don't stretch as bad as someone trying to veg/bloom with an HPS. LED's cause very little stretch in general compared to traditional lighting methods.

QB96's are more well suited to being dedicated flower lights then start to finish lights because of the included reds. If you want some advise on a cheap veg setup where you could run both a veg and bloom area at the same time PM me. I veg a 4x4 with 180-240 watts with little cooling and rotate into the flower area every 10 weeks or so.

  15. I veg at 32-36" with them dimmed way down. I run same setup in my 4x4 with 2 320h-54a. They are powerful so better to back them to far away then drop an inch every 2 days then to cook your girls. Don't need full power til week 5 of flower
