Q96 ELITE V2 BUILD (WIRING)

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by Zavien54, Jan 1, 2019.

  1. I recently just bought 2 Q96 ELITE V2 and I’m not that familiar with wiring at all lol but I’m a quick learner! Still waiting on my driver to arrive (HLG320h-54a) so trying to consume as much info as possible. Mainly I’m just wondering if I would need these attachments for the wiring as well. Trying to do this type of build as well. [IMG][IMG]

  2. You don't have to build a frame if you want to be cheap. Each qb96 can cover roughly a 2x2 area so you can just put each one on it's own hanger.

  3. Where did you get your wiring for the lights to connect to the outlet ? As well as for the driver lol if you don’t mind.

Does the Dim function still work with a setup like that ?

  4. I cut up some cheap extension cords from walmart. I just cut some pieces about 18" long or so, stripped one side and put a male cord end on the other. Just keep track of positive and negative. I use the smaller prong on the plug for positive. The cord I used on the outlet of the driver has a built in splitter on the end accomplishing all my parallel wiring connections automatically. They are all heavy duty UL listed connections that make the whole fixture modular. I can actually plug another board into that same setup and it will just split the current evenly to 3 boards instead of 2.

The dimmer works fine. The output of the driver is still 54 volts and about 6 amps. I just used 120volt connectors and standard extension cords on the output. Just be careful no dumbass plugs the boards directly into a wall plug.

  5. The answers to your questions are all in the pictures if you look. I put a male 120 volt cord end on the driver input and plugged it into a surge protector power strip. I put a female cord end on the driver output so I could just plug a short extension cord to the driver output. I used 16awg cords.
