Well I broke the piece where the downsteam goes in on my RooR lil sista. Luckily I still have the phX but my lil sista is just awesome and I hate to throw it away. I know that a glassblower could repair it but it would take a while to get back to me. I was wondering if anyone has pulled off a pyrex repair with a standard propane torch? -Rob
From what I could find the melting point of Pyrex is 821C and the temp of the torch is around 1300C, so it could work. But I have no idea how you could actully do it, mabey with a glass rod like oxyacetylene welding with steel? I have no experiance with glass though so I wouldn't trust me. Peace Dannk!...
Yea i've heard of people using regular torches to blow some thin pyrex like the test tubes into pipes. Maybe it would work I just hope it doesnt crack or anything.
Nah, I know it only costs 20 bucks to fix, but it would take 2 weeks to turnaround. I also don't really trust the head shops around here, there is no paperwork when they take it from you so it would be easy to get fucked. I know if I had an oxy torch I could fix it but I don't, so my only option is the propane torch. I was wondering if anyone has fixed pyrex before with one and the techniques they used. -Rob
