I was thinking of making a new CFL veg lighting setup, using PVC tubing as a frame to mount the lights. A little reading hints that PVC may not be a good choice of materials for inside a warm cabinet due to off-gassing. (Chlorine?) Does anyone know more about this? Any opinions welcome.
Well, I know PVC is chlorine donor in chemistry, but Im unsure of the temperatures needed to get it to give up its chlorine. I doubt it will be a problem with CFL's and decent ventilation, Ive seen many others use PVC with their setups.
Thanks for the reply, mmm223300. I think I saw it discussed in relation to PVC grow tents, so was wondering whether PVC in general was a problem, especially with poor ventilation. I have virtually none at night, while i'm asleep and the CFLs in the veg cabinet are on.
