I am ordering soma's lavender fem seeds, and plan on growing 3 of them this summer. I really want these buds to be a deep purple, so I was wondering if this method makes sense. Since i'll be growing during the summer, I really have to work on getting a nice ventilation set-up in my closet to keep the temps low, but what about the ice cube thing? I did some research and found this tip on rollitup:

Somas' "Lavender" review. - Marijuana Growing

If you don't want to check it out, his explanation for it is: "If you are looking for a purple strain to wow your buddies or your Cannabis Club, than look no further. It is an eight week strain that really begins to develope a beautifull grape jelly purple color if given cold nights 2 weeks till harvest, I also put ice on top of the soil and let the rootzone get cold, this stunts the uptake of potassium/phosphorus causing the purple effect."

Any thoughts? I couldn't find any threads regarding this topic btw

edit: I meant flowering** not harvest

  2. If the seller tells it, go for it. They probably know a lot more about the strain they're selling.

  3. yea, he's from humboldt too apparently

but i was just looking for someone else who has some experience with this method.

Hows it a purple strain if you have to give it cold nights to induce the purple color? Nature doesnt do that for the plant.
I cant beleive the other guys didnt say something about my point. Common sence told me that.

Lots of plants do that when you give them cold nights.

I'm pretty sure it'll have some purple, lavender hints regardless of temps/methods but this will intensify the purple color, giving it a deeper look so you can be sure.
