Putting a diffused downstem in a stemless tube?

Discussion in 'Bongs, Dab Rigs & Bubblers' started by TheHerbivore, Aug 28, 2012.

  1. So I have a stemline, and a thought crossed my mind when I saw that my old roor downstem (non diffused) fit in my tube.

Has anyone placed a diffused downstem in their stemless piece? Does it function as expected? I figure it would give me two points of percolation like my ashcatcher, but maybe a little less drag and probably a different hit.

So I'm thinking about ordering another german roor diffused downstem to place that in my stemless. Or another diffuser, so long as it is narrow enough to fit in the joint (so an Alex K probably wouldn't work).

Any opinions? or is this a stupid idea?

  2. water gets sucked out of the elbow in the stemless section, thus there's no room for it to diffuse. US tubes has a stemless design where they utilize a downstem though, the design is different than a stemline.

This. Also, hbg has an inline design (other inlines could work) that Glass Bastard had a short stem made for and he posted it in his collection thread. Check it out.
