Purple Widow - Ari Gold, you out there?

  1. Here are some shots of my plants. The 1st pic is plant #1 and the next 4 are plant #2. For some reason the other shots of plant 1 came out blurry - I am not much of a computer geek, so hopefully these pics show up.

This is supposed to be a indica/sativa blend, but the plants seem to be more sativa like - tall and wiry - not very bushy. And as you can see the purple coloring has not yet shown up. The wonderful dank smell that we all know and love has arrived, but is not real strong yet.

I made a couple of mistakes early on:
    1. I started a bit late. I started the germination process mid May due to - well thats when I got my seeds.
    2. They are located in a spot with a bit too much shade. I thought I would have more time to trim trees to get more sun, but you know how that goes. On the days that I water I have scoped out better spots with more sun and less tree trimming.
    3. I had a 3 week period in July where the sun was blocked out more days than not due to smoke from wildfires thru out the state. Not my mistake, but one more thing I think affected growth when combined with the 1st 2 issues.
    4. I did not top or use any type of LST methods. This is my 1st grow and I just wanted to get some experience and let mama nature do her thing.

If I had done the 1st 2 things correctly, along with at least topping, I think these gals would be monsters now... All in all it has been fun watching them grow and has been a great learning experience. I know there is much left to do before I am smoking herb that I raised, but I am already thinking that next year will be truly amazing after my beginners course this year.

  2. Hey,

Sorry to say but you're up for some serious smoking come fall. Your plants look great. I don't think they're lanky or what. The buds are nice and big so that's the main goal right! If you can trim some trees for the last month it's still good and the yield will be greater of course. Keep up the nice work. :D

  3. Thanks man. You're 100 percent right - this fall will be a good time. I'm not complaining, just reflecting...

  4. Damn man your plants are lookin great. Yours are a bit bigger than mine, due to the fact all the biggest ones got jacked. But those buds looked exactly like mine did before they turned purple.

  5. you look like youre growing in my state :D
i go mountain biking in the forest a lot and i recognize those types of trees. up north?
my first grow was this year as well, and man, how much you learn is incredible. i seriously had about 10 mistakes, yet somehow its working out so far. good luck!

  6. How many average hours of sunlight do they get a day?

  7. How many average hours of direct sunlight do they get a day?

  8. They're getting about 5-6 hours at most of direct sunlight - a few in the am and then a couple more in the late afternoon, with filtered/partial sun for most of the day.

Yes, Mr Blunt I am a fellow nor cal mtn biker in the foothills - maybe we've crossed paths, although this year I haven't been out on the trails as much as I would like. But snowboarding is just around the corner!
