    whats the deal with purple weed? just because its purple does it mean that its better then green weed? or do people get excited when they see it because its rare or something?

    Its just a phenotype of weed or the grower shocked his plants with low temperatures.

    it doesn't have anything to do with quality, it just looks cool and is rarer. But it can easily be faked either with dye or with temperature.

    The purple color is due to anthocyanin. Anthocyanin, besides being a way for the plant to grab more heat due to the darker color, is a good anti-inflammatory drug. Now smoking it won't likely do too much, but eating it would get the anthocyanin into your body.

    And it is pretty! :D

    ^Sure but that's the genetics. As was said in this thread about a year and a half ago the color has nothing to do with quality. And is easily faked with cold temperatures.

    Generally purple tends to be a lot more potent, and by that I mean it's rare to come by some bad purple weed. It happends, but not as often as green weed. It doesn't mean it's better though.
