Temperature stays above 75 F below 85 and humidity from 50 to 70%, been having problems with algae the pot is sitting in the reservoir and the reservoir is open to the light so I've had to switch the water twice, could this be stress or maybe a deficiency?
I don't see a problem, maybe just let her grow out a lil' and then you can tell. On the other hand, the algae is a real buzz kill. I suspect (from my last couple bato grows) that this drives the pH way down, like vinegar (!) and attracts a bunch of unwanted molds and other pests, which in turn infect the plant. I'd suggest covering up the perlite, even with landscaping fabric, or a plastic cover. I'm never doing bato's again because of the algae.
If you're growing a purple strain, there are chances that what you're seeing is part of that. What's your setup like? Get a picture of the whole thing so we can understand what we are looking at. Also, what are you feeding? What strength for anything you put in. I personally like to simply calculate the Nitrogen ppm from the NPK on each bottle. I generally just focus on the right ppm of Nitrogen with a good NPK ratio for the fertilizer. At this point, I know there'll be someone coming up with a phosphorous deficiency due to the purple color. I wouldn't chase that whatsoever. It's so early in the grow that you're not short on anything. It's more than likely some environmental cause that manifests as a deficiency symptom. Last thought, how often is it being watered? Overwatering can sometimes lead to strange coloring and it's possible even in coco or 100% perlite. If that's a feed tube right at the base, I could imagine the plant could be overwatered depending on your frequency.
the clue is in the stem note how dark red the stem is thats stalled sap like in red cabbage or even red apples tho some strains are bred to be 'red' it is just stalled sap here caused by the room or water outta temp range now spreading to the leaves ...I and most growers would avoid such amusement rather keep the sap moving to places it should be or 'keep growing' IMO keep the light outta your rez to prevent such hassles as algae good luck
I am feeding it a bit over a cap of foliage pro from dyna-gro per gallon, all the plants in the perlite are divorce cake by atlas seeds but only the one in the center has the purple under the leaves, im watering it 4x a day for 15 minutes. I poked holes in the watering tube near where the other plants are but the center one definitely gets the most water. I am gonna have to cut a big circle out of the lid to this reservoir to fit and block the light
A bit over a cap full isn't a graduated measurement. You need to know how much you're feeding especially if you're looking for advice. The dosage is important to be able to see what levels of nutrients you're providing. Milliliters are standard and I suggest working with them. Otherwise, grams are next best. That reservoir isn't gonna cut it. It's clear and wide open. Go buy one of those oil drain pans containers from a store and use it instead. They're usually black and decent sized. You should be able to sit your pot right on top and it'll drain down into it. I haven't grown in straight perlite so I'm unaware at how fast it dries out. If the center is getting watered the most and that's where the purple plant is, that's probably the issue. I'd bet you could cut down on the watering time. 15 minutes is quite long when it comes down to it. I think a lot of automated watering systems are using only a few minutes of watering especially with high frequency watering. You can get a 15 dollar amazon cycle timer that'll do increments in seconds instead of the normal 15 minute increment timers. I use one for my outdoor drip irrigation for my vegetable garden. 15 minutes out there is close to 100 gallons of water when I only need roughly 20-30 per watering.
I covered the reservoir with mylar, I think it is little bits of algae infecting the area im trying to dig out the affected perlite and put fresh perlite
Gave it a lil bottle with a lil peroxide in it and covered the perlite with mylar looks ghetto lol also switching to 3x a day
Me thinking your reservoir temp is to high . should be 68 degrees F max. Are you using tap water or RO water ? WHAT is the PPM's of your tap water, what Is the PPM's of your reservoir water ? You change the water every 7 days.
Ya the water is def warmer than 68 says like 76 and my uncalibrated meter saying 690 ppm but idk how accurate it is, im using a mixture of tap and spring water
The three that were on the outside have white roots the one with the purple underleaves (now in the blue pot on the right) has slightly yellowish roots
