Hi all, noticed my babies stem was a dark purple color. It use to be green. I have fed it nutes. I need some help please.
don't feed it nutes, it's too small to have possibly pulled everything out of that soil
To late now. Lol. This is my first grow. So I now I will fuck up here and there. Thanks for the help it is very much appreciated.
Wider/bushier instead of just tall. More yield. It's not hard to mess up, simply cut the main stem however, I'd still suggest looking at a video to get an idea. Although people fuck things up on those a lot as well...like I said, it isn't difficult. Simply cut off the main stem near the top
Before starting to cut her up figure out what you want to do with it, what type of space you have, etc... And to answer the question, purple stems could be the phenotype. But yours looks like it got really deep purple. Maybe flush it a little bit? to wash out some of the nutrients. I've seen purple/red stems before but it was from a Calcium or magnesium def if I remember correctly... My purple kush had red stems but that was the pheno, all my 3 clones have red stems regardless if I feed it or not. Also what type of nutes you put in there? Read up in the plant trouble section, a lot of great info and guides to troubleshoot.

Good point! these CFLs look pretty close to the plant, if you don't have any fans blowing on it, it could be overheating. CFLs are pretty cool but without a fan they still put out quite a bit of heat. Also on the 2nd pic the leaves look like they are starting to fold lengthwise. That for me was a big sign of Cal/Mg issue. If you don't already have some Cal/Mg nutes, it might be a good idea to get some and always start at like 1/4 dose when you put nutes in. Not all genetics will tolerate the same amount of nutrients.
is the room hot?
The room has been quite hot lately. I have an intake fan as well as a small fan inside with her. But temps still push mid 80's. I have a good exhaust and I am using four 23 watt CFLs. I don't know what the deal is, trial and error I guess. Thank you all for the support

After using the nutes yesterday it has perked a lot. The nutes I have don't contain calcium. I will defiantly pick some up.
Mid 80s is not too hot, but don`t let it get hotter because it will start to stunt the plant. I had 6x 40W CFLs within 2-3'' of my budz but I had 2 8'' fans that were blowing directly onto the CFLs which kept them almost room temperature. without the fans the bulb became hot enough that I could touch them but not keep my hands on it. With the fans I could easily hold the bulbs in my hands and it was barely warm. Idealy you would want airflow between the bulb and the plants so that the heat from the bulb does not reach the plant. But then again, I was very picky on heat lol. Also you don`t really need an intake fan, the negative pressure from your exhaust fan should be enough to create a good airflow. So if you want more airflow turn your intake fan into an exhaust fan and make another intake hole without any fans
Do you have any pictures of your overall setup?
I'll have my wife send me pics. Currently at work. I must warn you. It's a "ghetto grow box" but it works.
Do you have any pictures of your overall setup?
The pics. I know some people are against cardboard. But it's doing fine so far.
haha! awesome ghetto set up! I would point the fan at the plant, or at least at the lights, but some ppl will advise to not point your fan at the plant but this little fan won't hurt it, I have the same in my Veg box and it's pointed at the lights/plant. It helps keep the lights cooler.
