hey guys i just recently started puting the fox farm big bloom on my plants and iv noticed the branches shooting off of the stock that go to the fans are turning purple...but this is mostly only at the top of the plant...the purple is on the stems and its starting down the top of my stock it seems...anything i can do?
Please give more details on the grow. How old are they? What type of soil are they in? What type of lights? What is the NPK of the Fox Farms big bloom? How much do you give it? Did you notice the purple after you added the ferts?
Ferts can change the plants color to purple? I havent read that elsewhere... Is it and outdoor grow? If it is, then the purpling is most likely from coldish nights. The temp wont be too much of a problem until Frost(look up the normal frost date for your area), the cold may slow growth or (ive heard) cause hermies. Not really too much you can do about the weather though. If its an indoor plant then .... um, genetics? Some plants turn all kinds of funky colors. Genetics can also color outdoor plants. Big Bloom is something like 10-45-15, atleast the water soluble stuff is. I use Cha-Ching from foxfarm. Its more for late flowering(says it promotes the creation of heavy resins, and im a fan of heavy resins ) its NPK is 9-50-10. I also use their Peace of Mind topsoil dressing, thats much weaker and more for general flowering 5-8-4. Im growing outdoors, and ive found the stuff to be very forgiving. Its hard to tell how much these 6' plants need, but i have seen zero evidence of nute burn. So far, foxfarm ferts have done pretty well for me. My main problem is the fact i grew bagseed, late flowering bagseed(seems i like sativa dom plants). I had a six foot tall male that just decided to sex the first week of september. It was the most sativa looking out of the three, and it proved it. That beast couldve impregnated an entire forest if i hadnt caught it. I wonder where in the world it was grown.
