Purple Punch

Potted my plants up yesterday into 1.9ltr pots under a 3ft twin t5 (looks the same as the fixing above but the reflector is white), 80cm(L) x 18cm(w) and gives me 8cm top canopy (Hight) (1cm below tube)16,000 lux(that's a good amount of light for 4 plants in early to mid veg) at about 42watts, on 24 hours.

and the root mass, the roots have filled the pots and causing the plants stress and turning the stem purple, great time to pot up.


my soil mix in early veg
1.9ltr pots,
2 large tbsp sharp sand.

Second layer
Mix 1 tsp chicken manure in 1 cup of seed and cutting soil, 1 tbsp perlite


Third layer
2tbsp perlite
1tbsp of seaweed meal
about 1ltr of Gro-sure seedling and cutting compost.

Alway found Barney's farm to have good quality seeds. I have asked for my thread to be moved into the grow journal section, thanks for the advice. The sand on top is to put any thips off, my sheds alway got 1 or 2 flying around. Not going to top dress my plants in veg. I want the roots to fill the pot looking for food,
My plants in flower should be ready in 7-10 days, so I need to flower my plants off soon.
Vegging my plants.
5 days under the twin t5's, a week under a 250w mh, pot up to final pot size, veg for a week and flower. (So my plants have about 19days left in veg if things go to plan).

 

The plants been vegging under the t5's for the last 4 days and they have grown over an inch and looking very healthy.


Will be turning the 250w mh on tomorrow for a week, now there settled in.

I have 2 different phenotypes in flower, ones likes to spread herself out and the buds are soild, filled with oil, looks a little unwell no matter what I do with her.
The second one produces buds not quite as soil but there not much in it. the second phoneotype grows shorter and more bushy, larger buds vs cherry buds, produces a higher crop for the space used, phoneotype one has a knock out fruity stone and the second phoneotype more of a sativa happy high followed by a knock out stone if I smoke too much. The first phoneotype has a fast flower time 7 weeks and the second one needs 8 weeks to finish off.
You can see the difference in the picture, front right end there phenotype one and the next at the front ( look for the yellow leaves lol) the second phonetype, one on the left and the back two.

All the plants in veg are the second phenotype. both phoneotype are the same strain from the same pack of seeds but grow and look different.

 

I have changed the light over to the 250 MH, it's far from ideal, I will buy a led when I can find one for a 40cm x 80cm veg room.(round 100w) my temps are Maximum of 32c and the lux is between 25,000 and 30,000 which is perfect for early veg.
I have a desktop fan pulling air in from outside and this is helping with temps aimed at the MH.

 

Hi its been 8 days under the mh and my plants are growing healthy and fast, just giving the buds 2 more days to dry out in the flower room and potting the plants up into the 18ltr pots.


I have topped and fim a few tops to keep the canopy level and bushy, very happy so far.

 

Decided to trim all the buds upto day, buds are coated in crystals, pulled them down Friday, temps been about 25c and the humidity 40 so it's taken 5 days, I pulled 277g
Short veg and flower (51 days 12/12) but the quality great.

 

potted up the plants yesterday and lollipoped the lower canopy, also thined out the canopy and used the lower shoots as cuttings,
The plants are still vegging under a 250w mh, will turn them over to flower, Thursday or Friday next week, gives them a week to settle in, will flower them off under a 400w hps for the first 7-10 days and then add the tomato rings, (45cm), add the second light and turn both lights to 400w. 11 days to 3 weeks in flower turn the light up to 600w for 2-3 weeks and then back down to 400w for a week and down to 250w for the last 3-4 days.
Water till havest, trying a hotter soil mix, so I may burn the plant a little, or it may be the perfect soil mix, time will tell



Cutting under a single 6w t5, cuttings take 3 weeks to root.

 

Update last day in veg.
5 days later, going to turn them over to flower tomorrow, some of the edges of the fan leaves are turning up and the leaves are a little dark, so the soil slitly too hot, but over all there healthy and growing fast. The plants have been drying out for the last 5 days, as I want the roots looking for water and food, temps are hitting 27c, temps could be a problem for a few weeks antill the autum starts settling in ( when both lights are on 400w) and the night temps drop.

 

Change the light over to 12/12 on the 19th,
spaced the plants out under the 2 x 400w hps, about 15" above the plants, there getting 40,000-60,000 lux, there 12" tall and each plant is about 24" wide, there healthy and everything is going to plan, the temps are between 25c and 34c

If the night temps drop enough over the next 3 weeks, I will turn the lights up to 600w.

I have added tomato plant supports ( 18" wide and 12" above the soil) the shoots are 6"-8" above the rings and should finish about 12" when the stretch is over.

giving the plants 3ltrs of water every 3 days.

My plants got to day 51(12/12) 10 October


The total yeild 21.7 OZ (trays 20"(L) x 16"(W x 3"(H)
Would fill a 20ltrs container.
Not bad with 2x 400w hps

 

Up my plants are now a week in flower 12/12, keeping the plants canopy around the 50,000/600par pulling down the shoot where I need to to keep the canopy almost level but slightly raised at the sides, my nights temps 25c and day temps 32c, humidty sitting around 50%.

Just using water, will top dress acouple of times and keep everything well balanced, right amount of water, food,and light.
( too much or little will damage my plants)
Keeping the night and day temperatures less 10c different, high airflower
Light 1 600w for the first week in flower, 2 600w for week 2 - 6 and dropping the lights down to 400 for the last 10 days.
