Sry was at work when I posted so I was trying to be fast about it lol strain in unknown temp have been good between 68 and 75 humidity around 40 45 will post pics later when I get home I just want to make sure it’s nothing I should worry about that’s late into flower
As mentioned, cold temps sometimes turns plants purple........or it could just be a purple strain. Got any pics? Personally, I never really understood the fascination with purples. Not really a fan.
agreed! ...after millions of years the plant needs to use that sap as a form of sugar here now we are growing plants with excess sugar, or perhaps whats going wrong here is the ability of the plant to consume that sugar leading to excess sap stalling in the plant as temps swing
https://wayofleaf.com/cannabis/growing/why-does-weed-turn-purple-myths-and-facts ================Web Why Does Weed Turn Purple? Some strains of marijuana turn purple due to a high content of pigments called anthocyanins in their leaves. Anthocyanins are naturally occurring, water-soluble pigments found in many plants. They are the color pigments that make blueberries blue, blackberries black, and red grapes red. They are present in some strains of cannabis, too. These anthocyanin pigments account for the variety of colors that appear in buds from different plants. Anthocyanins do not just make weed purple. They can turn it a variety of colors, including red, gold, dark green, blue, or black. The color of cannabis all depends on the genetics of the plant itself and how it is grown. Certain conditions influence the actual color and stability of anthocyanin pigments. Temperature, light, pH, and structure all play influential roles. Just as leaves change color in the fall, cannabis leaves can change color as the plant reaches maturity. If you imagine a cannabis plant growing in nature, this would also happen in fall as the temperature decreases, and the nights become longer. Cold temperatures cause chlorophyll to break down, and this is what allows the other glorious colors to shine through. ====================End And now you know more then you did. BNW
I just finished my 5th crop. All except 1-2 plants hove gone purple as flower kicks in. I had no idea my first grow and asked the same questions. With the amount of crossbreeding the last 10 years I pretty much expect everything to go purple now. So far I've only had a few stay green all the way through.
Plants seem healthy loos ok I keep forgetting to take a pic It seems to be only where the light hits right under it cuz where the leaves overlap it’s not purple lights have been the same distance all of flower and I’m almost at the end of week 6/7 depending on when u start ur flowering counts
