  1. As you probably could have guessed from my screen name,I love punk music. My favorite bands at the moment are:

    Nirvana(I know they're not punk,but they're my all-time favorite band)
    Metallica(again,not punk,but a great band)
    Bad Religion
    The Sex Pistols
    Rancid
    Pennywise
The Offspring(I think I can safely say that they are the most commercial punk that I listen to)
    NOFX

I think that punk is great music to get stoned to,at least,it's that way for me.
I would like to voice my opinion right here that bands like Good Charlotte and Simple Plan are not punk in any way.I usually see two sides to every argument but this time.....no.

    KEEP TOKIN!

  2. Punk music is good. I consider bands like simple plan, good charlotte, blink 182, etc, "pop punk." They try to be punk, but in reality, they're sellouts and anything but punk. Probably as commercial as my punk tastes go is Green Day (Warning sucked, but the rest is good.) My favorite punk/emo bands at the moment:

    NOFX
The Mars Volta (not really sure what they qualify as)
    Motion City Soundtrack
    Thursday
    Taking Back Sunday
    Bad Religion

  11. bad brain... ugh.. worst band EVER!!

  12. I was punk once, still listen to some of my old CD's.
    Youth Brigade
    Propagandhi
    Thursday
    Mclusky
    At The Drive-In

so many more I could name but I mostly listen to local bands.

How is Good Charlotte and Simple Plan and Blink 182, etc. not punk? Punks a genre of music, just because they're on MTV doesn't mean they're not punk. I mean, I don't blame you if you don't like they're music, I think they're awful too, but that doesn't mean they're not punk.

  13. i find those bands more 'pop punk' but they are punk. Blink rocks! I loved their last CD.

  14. The thing about the phrase punk is that it's about rebellion.I like Blink just as much as the next person. They were one of the first bands I really liked, but it's not punk. It's pop rock.
And GC and SP are certainly poser bands.

  15. Propagandhi is the only punk I listen to at the moment....

    good stuff though

  16. Wow. Get some better music. All of you.

  17. Oh sorry, I didn't realize you were the resident authority on music.

  18. Indeed. Today's Empires Tomorrow's Ashes is a punk album that is still regularly in my stereo. I dont' listen to punk as much as i used to. more country now.

  19. I've had the pleasure to play in two punk bands during the late seventies/begin eighties: The Workmates and A4. Ahhh... those were the days;)
    My all time favorites:
    Ramones
    Sex Pistols
    Siouxie and the Banshees
    UK subs
    Crass
    The exploited
