I think Puerto Rico should become a state already, it's been a good amount of time since we've had a new one Seriously though, I remember reading on this way back and I would like some input from you guys on this. What should Puerto Rico do? Become a state, remain a territory, or become independent? Reasons why they should and what nots. Currently all I remember about the situation is they don't get FULL benefits but they don't pay the same types of taxes we do(I think they get off on the cheap end by a good amount). I also remember that the political party that wants Puerto Rico to become a state and the one that wants it to remain a territory have similar amounts of people behind the movements. So thoughts, ideas, etc... enlighten me ^_^
Puerto Rico has voted on this event many times. They voted between statehood and territory-status and chose territory, they voted between independence and dependence and chose dependence. I think they like their protection and autonomy as a territory.
