Psychiatrist who will recommend weed in California

Discussion in 'Medical Marijuana Usage and Applications' started by 360365, Nov 7, 2023.

  1. Hi,

I was taking psy meds and mixing it with weed for two years. I was doing better than I've done psychologically my entire adult life.

I got into an altercation with someone who was messing with me. Long story short, I'm on probation now. They took away my right to smoke weed and my depression has come back in full force. I need a psychiatrist who will prescribe marijuana. I can't find one. I'm in the Sacramento area and use Medi-cal.

How do I find one? Can anyone recommend one?

  2. i'm limited on the subject.

    you don't need a psychiatrist.
any doctor can prescribe anti-depression and give a recommendation letter.
my doctor told me they need to be certified to give a letter.

they can't prescribe weed, just give you a recommendation letter,it's the county that decides if you should get it.

the card just exempts you from taxes, lets you possess twice the amount, and let's you in medical only places.
it will not exempt you from court or probation conditions. :p

  3. no, I would need to make a motion to allow me to use my med card, which I already have.

  4. you had a card.
the card itself is just like a drivers license, a piece of plastic with your mug shot on it.

you talk to a lawyer, not a doctor for legal issues on getting your permissions back.

if you don't get piss tested, weed can still be bought.;)

ok, dude....you're a fucking idiot. I already said that THEY TOOK AWAY MY RIGHT TO SMOKE. I was hoping agianst hope that someone could suggest a doctor who could help me, so I can use that to make a motion to get it back. A lawyer won't be able to do shit if I don't have a doctor backing me up. Why are you commenting on this when you don't know what your talking about. I'm not going to respond to you anymore.

  6. good luck to you on your quest and journey .... hopefully you find what works for you soon

  7. Never used it but I think veriheal is a company that u can pay to have them find u a doctor who will prescribe u or they give u ur money back. I'm sure there's other companies that do that kind of thing, not sure if they are the best but I think they're popular. California especially should be easier to find a doc since they basically invented doctor shopping for weed before it became rec legal.

  8. If the court took away your right to smoke. A Dr cannot overrule the courts. IMHO, you would need an attorney to advocate your case, to the courts.

  9. Question: cannabis use on probation in california

California Health and Safety Code § 11362.795(a) (SB 420) states: Any criminal defendant who is eligible to use marijuana pursuant to Section 11362.5 may request that the court confirm that he or she is allowed to use medical marijuana while he or she is on probation or released on bail.

Find a lawyer who deals with cannabis law.

  10. they found a “nexus” between my use and the chain of events that lead to the incident. My lawyer already tried to fight for me during the case but they decided to piss test me.

I have been advised that I would need a my doctor to go along with it, if I want any chance of getting my right to use weed back.

The lawyer would help but I need a doctor.

  11. Ahhh I almost added the question if they had burned you like they will for DUI cases and that answered it. I wonder if calling some of the recommending doctors and explain what you need would get results. They likely network and would be where I'd start. Them and a Cannabis specific Lawyer.
