    wellmy ps3 broke again (not slim), same way as last time too.
    its something to do with the blue ray lens thing that reads the disk. it just doesnt read the disk n when it does it says error code something i researched it n its expensive to fix but ya pissd cuz ive wasted so much fuckn$$$ on systems / games and controllers.

    Dude I bought 2 an they both broke the same way. I'm goin to Xbox again..

    You should try to mod it so you can just play games off the hdd. I have no clue how hard it is to do, but what do you have to lose? That or just try the fix yourself if possible.

    WTF? Instead of hitting the power button, are you throwing it against the wall to rage-quit? JK, I get it it though man, you probably game somewhat hard and it's the fat model.

    That's like saying "my Evo 9 doesn't have enough traction, I think I'll buy a viper"
    Even the xbox slims still have roughly twice the failure rate of a fat PS.

    Look if your not an idiot and don't care about/have a warranty, then replace the drive yourself.

    i have the slim. had a 5yr old child run and trip on the charging cable and pulled the ps3 right off my entertainment system... plays everything but bluray now. some people believe it was an update that caused many bluray problems

    I just bought my ps3 on black friday yay! I have something to look forward to. I just want to play MGS 4 that I have been dying to play since it came out. That and God of War 3, then I'm set haha.

    I've dropped my slim from chest height and the lip of the bottom half of the case slipped over the top half in the corner, it still plays fine even after falling asleep with it on all night.

    Only ever got it to freeze once and that was by putting 5 propane tanks in the back of a truck and throwing a grenade into it on uncharted 2.

    PS3 had a 0.4% failure rate with the fat model, and that cut in half to 0.2% with the slim so:

    Stop throwing your PS at the wall every time you die in a game OR

    stop playing for hours on end in a house/room that is 80+ degrees OR

    replace the filter on your home A/C
