PS2 Games worth buying?

    I bought myself a PS2 for Christmas, mostly for Guitar Hero and cause Im not shelling out the vast amount of money they want for a PS3. Anyway, I've got both the GH games and love them, but what others are worth checking out? I mostly like RPGs, but of course I'll want to get a first person shooter or two...and maybe even a racing game :rolleyes:

    Well, i also love the GH games but here are some other reccomendations:

    Action/Platformers:
    1. God of War (really good)
    2. Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal (really good)

    Racing:
    1. Need for Speed: Carbon
    2. Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition Remix
    (Both good)

    Those are the ones i would get, all amazing.

    All the games listed are really good but id recomend midnight club over need for speed. im currently playing FF XII its enjoyable but loved FF X its a greatest hit so its only 20 bones. Not too many great fps though for the ps2.

    red faction is really funny
    those are good enough for horus of fun

    Def go with Need for Speed Underground 2, the midnight clubs dont compair.

    san andreas probibly the best game on ps2 imo, some silent hills, hit man is fun, and one of my fav NBA live 2003:hello:

    if you like rpgs, i would definatly recommend kingdom hearts, and kingdom hearts 2, even though they are not rpgs, but they are from the same people who brought you the FF series. there are even some ff charecters in it.

    Everyone and their brother seems to be madly in love with the Final Fantasies. I've never played any of them...If I started at like 10, would I be completely lost in a story?

    I picked up God of War today, and it's great. Not the greatest gameplay I've seen, but the game is visually amazing. It's like an orgasm in my eyeballs. And I'm a Greek mythology nut, so it works :)


    Im looking into the games you've all recommended, but I havent seen any good RPGs for the PS2...I went to Best Buy and didnt see anything really eye catching (Got GTA: Vice City, havent played it yet). Are there any good roleplaying games for it?

    Black is a class shooter

    Resident Evil 4 is excellent also when u get into it.

    Gran Turismo 4, for a racing... best out there.
