Pruning While In Flower?

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by emrugg1, Sep 13, 2014.

  1. Hey Everyone,

First time grower here. I have had a few posts on here for my first season and everyone has been really helpful. I have two plants that I have been growing since a week after germination. I lucked out and they are both girls. They are both in flower now and I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight into trimming and pruning. Should I cut off some of these leaves around the flower? Should I cut any leaves or branches at all?

Here are some pictures of them as of yesterday.

  2. Dont cut them off.

  3. I see no reason to prune these plants, light penetration is good and you've got no underdeveloped shoots beneath a canopy.

  4. Your plants look great!  If you're going to trim them, I suggest doing so leading up to the point where they start to show flowers.  After that, I'd only recommend removing some of the lower growth, but no more than a week or so after showing sex.
