Pruning New Leaves

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by Sir Ganja, Jun 20, 2013.

  1. I have recently started growing a few plants outdoors. My friend knows a guy with some experience, who gave us some advice. When the plant first starts to grow it has two oval-like leaves and two spikier leaves. This guy says to clip off the oval-like leaves when the plant starts growing. Is this a good idea? I know there are some experienced growers on here that could lend some advice.

  2. Those oval leaves, the cotyledons, are what contain the nutrients for your plant to sprout and begin growing. They normally fall off after a few weeks on their own. There is no advantage to cutting them off.

  3. That makes sense. Thanks bud!
