Would like programmer feedback or feedback from people who have an interest in game design. To learn to make a great game, I'm creating lots of fuddily experiments. I'm open to any ideas. The first prototype is some kind of poking game. I need to come up with a set of spherical objects to do collision detection on. Maybe sheep in a pen? Dunno Inspired by [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9DCNdCmZrwM[/ame] I'm writing a game prototype a week. Requirements? I'm doing everything in javascript - no Flash or Java. Watch the progress of the 1st here prototype ( to be succeeded after this Saturday ): http://cedarrapidscleaning.co.cc/tyler/messing/ This one is about me learning basic collision detection and the physics of jumping and gravity. Play my first ever completed game (a tetris clone I did last summer) here: http://cedarrapidscleaning.co.cc/js/tetrominoes
I don't know what we'll be poking with the lightning but I think it's going to be a school house a tree and a raccoon that pops out of a hole. When you score the screen should flash white and the sound of thunder should play. This isn't a game per se it's a prototype of a game so it's meant to be lo-fi. Any ideas, thoughts or suggestions are appreciated. Bugs are not high on my list of priorities - completing the concept is since this is week one of my one prototype a week effort.
