I don't see any reason they should have taken them down. People can walk by and scoff at them. I advocate total abolition of government but I wouldn't want to see the Washington monument or any other historical government monuments destroyed. It is still great art and architecture and would serve to remind us of the tyranny and evil of government and that we should never go down that path again.
I don't care if it was a confederacy statue, they should be charged with treason and necked. They want to topple capitalism and our democracy all the same. Traitors go first. McCarthy had it right.
i was thouroughlly disgusted at watching that mob DESTROY that monument.....i wasnt too pleased with them being moved to start with. but at least they were to be taken to museum's...cemetaries...historical battleground sites e.t.c. but this was a act that does demand retalliation.....and im sure theres some people right now planning a move. whats gonna happen if a couple of martin luther king statues get hung up in a tree ? or some all black colleges get torched....or black churches get burned,,,,,amd the list goes on, just look at whats happened to a couple of mosques in the past....and thats because of a distant issue,,,,,this issue is very close to home, it's obvious some are silentlly asking for a race war.....and believe me...do poeople want to see a repeat of the 60's? times are a lot different . than the way it was in the last civil right's protest. these days people will shoot to kill without hesitation, i wonder if the people in the mob commiting these act's actually know what can happen because of actions such as these, the '' ANGRY WHITE MAN'' has been asleep for a while,,,, do you really want to wake him up,? if and when it happens...just remember who started this ball rolling,

Neither side is going about this the best way. The real tragedy is a woman died in the swirl of all this, yet the talk of GC is that a statue was toppled, and now history has officially been erased from our minds. A life has been erased. Do you spend as much time examining the right as you do criticizing the left? Because the right does not have a leg to stand on when it comes to criticizing anyone for violence. This left/right stuff is getting tiring.
