Proper Cage for Varmint Protection

    This seems to work very nicely for me. Cut a 6 foot section of 2ft tall, 1/2 inch mesh galvanized fencing (19 gauge). Wrap it in a circle and fasten the ends so you have an approx 2ft diameter cylinder. Take two 8ft bamboo poles and cut them in half so you have four of them 4 ft tall. Put cylinder around plant and stake that bitch around the plants using the bamboo, and fasten with plastic ties. See picture.

    What varmints are you concerned about? This is what I have around my 100gal bags. Then I have deer fencing around the perimeter. And I have the hardware cloth that you are using underneath the bags to prevent gophers and voles from chewing through the bags. Here is link to the deer fencing. It's pretty cost effective
