I heard the Promix itself is a Great soiless mix! I was thinking about mixing some Foxfarm Happy Frog Soil with the promix? Tell me what you think i was thinking like 2/3 promix and 1/3 happyfrog with Perlite and later on some FFGB,FFBG,FFTB. Tell me what you think this will be Outdoor as well but starting off indoors.

Why should I not just get the Happy frog soil? its already got a good portion of this stuff plus already mixed? Its more of a compost then anything
[quote name='"HiddenGrower"']Why should I not just get the Happy frog soil? its already got a good portion of this stuff plus already mixed? You should do your math before stating the facts.
I didint know math was what determined this lol, and it looks like a good choice to mix with So LOOK IT UP instead of Talk out your Bum xD
Mich trich, that is good info. There are several products whose design is similar to that youve suggested and they are great. More growers should be using them. I have a buddy that uses the Happy frog and one that uses straight FFof. The straight soil does better in my view. The Happy frog can be as good but its far too dense and significant amounts of p erlite have to be added. Strainght happy frog holds too much moisture and isnt airy enough for good root development. Add 1gal of perlite per bag and its good stuff.
Mike stop giving away all of our secrets. Lol. Bumper crop is the shit I can vogue for that. And just as mike said just add perlite. The only problem is u can't buy it in bulk so u might need to get a pallet of them to fill all your wholes.
we bought 2 pallets at the begginning of the year I think was about 750$ but I used 3 bags per hole in the ground and 6 bag+perlite in each of my 100 gallon smart pots.. next year I only plan on using one bag just to liven up my holes again.. but my smart pots I dumped out and plan on re-doing fresh again..
also I shouldn't say its the only way to go I can only speak from my own experience this is what I used the last 2 years and don't plan on changin anything up too much unless I decide to go all out and design my own supersoil.. bumper crop works excellent with the soil in my area which is clay and hard pan dirt.. I dug 4x4x2 hole, then dilled a 8" hole down through the center of the hole deep until I hit the water table where water started to rise.. this way I have a drain hole through the hard pan clay.. I kept the top 12 inches of topsoil and threw out all the bottom soil.. mixed existing top soil with 2 bags bumper crop then poured one bag on top of the whole thing and leveled it off, no perlite inground, it already drains fast enough was watering 2x a day.. every other watering I used various liquid nutes at different stages.. I wouldn't try to start in bumper crop though.. happy frog/perlite is good for starts.. mike..
