  2. Probably not even the right genre, but The Sound Of Animals Fighting. Just a trippy rock band I guess

  3. There is alot of djent style bands in this thread. Not dissing it at all, just not my taste. Alot of people seem to consider all djent as progressive

Love the Faceless, but wasn't into their new cd that much. Doesn't help that there's only one original band member.. Metal bands seem like they're always getting rid of members and bringing new ones in. Didn't like the singing one bit. Planetary Duality was epic though.

Why? Because Tosin blows him outta the water?

Chimp Spanner is pretty good though. Been listening to his stuff for a while as well.

Hell yeah man Veil is the shit. Definitely my favorite metal band, even though they've yet to top their first album.

Considering the fact that I love TMV and AAL, I was big into this cd. My one and only complaint is that the cd was only 6 songs. Long songs, but still wanted more!

edit: didn't realize I was quoting the same person everytime lmao

Share us some of your collection Friend :)! Give us your knowledge! And I mean it with all sincerity :)! Cheers mate!

Plus, I guess for being the that started this thread... I assume you gave a good look at my name. Its cool bro. But I just want to give you input on this. Alot of people would probably say that Meshuggah would be the ''Djent'' band. But they are not. The band themselves never bought into the idea. It`s just the way Fredrik Thorthendal can describe their sound with a word while rehearsing the song. Misha Mansoor, the one that basically popularized the ''Term'', Now sells bands shirt that says Fuck Djent! So please people don't go on a genre rampage. Prog music is way too important to argue about stupid stuff like the Classic ''Deathcore or Death Metal'' bullshit! My name on the other hand is more of humor than anything else.

Bottom line, This thread says Progressive music (Metal, Rock, Other). And by other, well i mean....

So I do find that the bands that you would call ''Djent'' , still fits in to this thread. I find personally.

  7. Welcome Friend :)! Share with us some of your bands! would be really appreciate :)!

  9. It's cool man, I guess what I was trying to say was I prefer prog with an organic vibe rather than a mechanical vibe if you know what I mean. For me anyway, Meshuggah, Tesseract, Animals As Leaders and Skyharbor are the only bands of that style that make their music interesting. It seems to me that alot of these 'djent' bands are very technical just for the sake of being technical, as if there is not really any inspiration behind it all, leaving me with the impression that they are very pretentious. Of course, it appeals to others though and that's cool too.
Sorry if I came off as some sort of genre nazi, I guess I just phrased my thoughts incorrectly!

This Christmas I got 2 great albums from my girl.

Devin Townsend's Ziltoid the Omniscient (this isn't like any other of his albums. This is about a alien named Ziltoid, there's a big comedic story to this album between each song so give it a good listen)
here's a little video giving the world a glimples of Ziltoid : [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QwOzuSwrDjk[/ame]
