  2. Love Disperse. Jakub is an amazing guitar player. And the new album is due in Feb.

    One of the things that I like about him is that he's not just another djenty shredder, he also knows how to kick back and jam.

  3. Another one of my favorites, Sithu Aye.

  4. Not all djent is prog and not all prog is djent, but the overlap is large.

    Long songs, technical proficiency, unusual time signatures, multiple different sections within songs....it's all good.

  5. Gojira! So heavy, so creative! Great band to witness high as fuck live. They got some serious shit!

    Nothin' like some TesseracT to make the days better

  7. We seem to have alot more metal bands.... HEY! share with us :)! I'm in the mood to find some new prog rock bands! And feel free to share some experiences if you've attended a show/Concert.!

    Sickest lineup I've been to this year was Meshuggah , Baroness and Decapitated!

    Such a variety of styles it was perfect!

    I was really eager to attend a Roger Waters show... but it was far beyond my expense.... I regret not even considering to go :S!

    I also witness some Periphery, Veil of Maya, The Contortionist, The Faceless, Gojira, Protest the Hero and the Almighty BTBAM this past August!

  8. This is a masterpiece.

    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=258IAiOtnuw]Frank Zappa/The Mothers Of Invention - Absolutely Free (Full Stereo Album) (1967) - YouTube[/ame]

  9. Very traditional style prog rock with a Vai/Sat/malm feel....but a bit heavier.
    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygiq6AMBGko]Gru-Cosmogenesis (Full Album) - YouTube[/ame]

    Some comedy this crowd can appreciate.

  10. I've been into Chimp Spanner for about a year now. Very impressive prog! Do not even compare with AAL! Paul Antonio Ortiz is simply a inspired musician that really knows how to capture the mind of his fans with such gracefull, Light minded yet often heavy parts. And how can we forget some groove eh? I showed this band to my pops (Listens to classic rock mostly), and actually digs it! Do yourselves a favor, light a nice one, and listen to Chimp Spanner :)

  12. Does anybody on here know T.R.A.M?

    Tosin Abasi, Javier Reyes, Adrian Terrazas and Eric Moore.

    I'd describe them as Jazz Prog for sure. But containing members of Animals as Leaders, Mars Volta and Suicidal Tendencies? Simply Awesome!

  13. TOOL's Paul D'amour music project Feersum Ennjin! Really fucking good guys!

    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNE4KfItGjM]Feersum Ennjin - Dragon - YouTube[/ame]

  14. A band I liked on facebook and another page dedicated to showing newer, progressive based music linked this song:

    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45dmxZGIaXo]The Schoenberg Automaton - Ghost of Mirach - YouTube[/ame]

    I'm actually tempted to give the album a listen to see if they're worth following. This song hasn't disappointed me, so I'm eager to hear the album as soon as possible :D

  15. Cibo Matto can adapt to just about any genre. :smoke:

  16. Boreworm! They mostly only have guitar pre-prods on youtube. But if you're a fan of heavier side of Prog metal, check it out! This project will become a full package band with a vocalist and all. So if you really like these, just imagine how epic this band's gonna be once they add everything else that's missing!

    I want some honest opinions here.... what are your thoughts on this video? Personally, I only like it for the drums. The song is super killer, but once you look at the bass player and the guitars going (in the video) , not much going on. Typical "Djent" that can really use more creativity. Feel free to share your fully honest opinions.

  18. Dont have a vid for it, but check out a band called City boy. They have a 1979 album called "The day the earth caught fire" and it is one of the best prog rock albums i have ever heard in my life.
