Processing roots

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by SweenDawg, Jan 15, 2019.

  1. Hey I just got done with my first hydro grow and want to know if I can make my roots into a lotion or something?
Anyone have links to recipes / how to process the roots?
I'm gonna hang them to dry today I geuss and go from there.. they are slightly yellow from nutrients(I think)

  2. mmm I've though of that, but there are a couple things to be concerned with, both of which I just em chuck over

    1 root rot

    2 salt acumilation.
I've done dwc grows and drying the roots out there is lots of salt build up.

  3. Thanks man I'll just throw them in the compost then

  4. If the plant was grown fully organic then the roots are safe to process given theres no rot. But seeing as in you grow hydro, I wouldn't use them..

  5. Okay what about all the sugar leaves I wet trimmed.. I put them in ziplock bags and sucked the air out and froze them for now.. would you use those? I didnt grow organic.. i did have rot issues in the beginning too.

  6. When you say sugar leaves do you mean the large fan leaves which make the majority of the sugar for the plant to use as energy? Or the small bud leaves covered in trichomes?

If you mean the trichome covered trim then you can make hash. Next time try it out on a tray before freezing because when you make has from fresh frozen leaves it makes the hash green

You can also make canna-butter to use in cooking or you can extract the resin with bho or heat pressing

My personal favourite is dry sifting and press the sift in to hash blocks just like the old soap bar back in the 90s
