Problems with Star Pupil

  1. I've been growing a Star Pupil Plant for a while now and all the leaves are drying out at the tips. The moisture in the soil seems to be good. Anybody have any thoughts?

  2. Sounds like you fed them too much and its the start of nute burn but ots only a guess with so little to go on. Pictures in regular light help with the diagnosis. Also, how much and how often and what you've been feeding helps too. Is is tap water or filtered? What soil are they planted in, and what type and size container? Are you adjusting water temps and pH? Etc.

  3. I would love to show you some pictures but don't have the capability to download any. I have it growing in an Ocean Forest/Coco Coir mix in about a 5 gal container. I use rain water that has a ph of 6.5 -6.6. I have been feeding it Fox Farm Grow Big about every other watering. I have also been giving it, and another plant some cal/mag due to a potential deficiency. This has been a troublesome plant from the beginning.

  4. If these burnt tips just started and it hasn't progressed much, just flush them very well with that rain water and then start the nute regimen at half strength.

Just curious, are you adding the nutes to the water before or after adjusting it to 6.0 to 6.5 pH? It needs to be 6.0 to 7.0 and around 73° when it goes into the medium after adding the nutes.

I'm planning to grow one of these grape pupil on my next run. Its too bad you can't upload pics. I'd love to see how your grows goes.

  5. Actually it has been going on for several weeks. I have been giving it only water for about two weeks now. I add the nutes right into the rain water. The soil ph is right around 7 -7.3.
