I have a trumpet mouth piece that I have been using as a bong stem for about one year. It used to be very shiny and silvery on the outside. Now its turning a brownish rainbow color. I let it get pretty hot sometimes. I am curious if this is harmful to me. I read that trumpet stems are coated in silver by the way.

Now, on topic I don't think silver would hurt you but make sure it isn't copper. Generally stainless steel is preferred for metal bowls though because it doesn't heat up as fast.
