  1. hey guys i have ran into a little problem on a few of my little guys.. i got some new seeds and began to germinate them . and left them in my paper towel a bit to long they just got bigger and that is besides the problem..as i was taking one and putting it into my soil the root of it snapped so the bottom mm or two is missing. will my plant still be able to heal itself and regrow the root?

    thank you

  2. Doesn't really matter how big the tap root(That first white root that cracks the seed) gets. As long as it hasn't dried out or been sitting too long (I'll elaborate in a sec) they should be just fine. You really have to leave them in the towels for a long time before they die, the original seed casing will have come off completly (at that point you must plant IMEDIATLY if you want to save it).

About your other problem of snapping the tap root a bit, no it shouldnt be a prob. Remember its got a long way to go/grow; so two mm of damage won't hinder it.

  3. my experience is that if you damage the taproot then the sprout dies....

  4. HIGH All, I agree if the tap root is damaged the chances aren't good.

  5. ty for your replies i still have 4 other babies growin good from that batch of germinating soo it looks fine :)

  6. huh, I was always under the impression that you'd really have to abuse the taproot to cause any damage.
