Prevent Botrytis.

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by MrMota, Sep 20, 2022.

  1. The methyl parabens has made quite a difference to the botrytis issue. It stops it cold. It is a cheap and nontoxic remedy. All you have to do is get some methyl parabens powder, a very little is enough, you can find it from cosmetic chemical suppliers online or even on EBay.
You add powder to water, only 0.5% will dissolve so don't waste too much. IE 1L of water, 5gm parabens.
    Then spray.
The IMPORTANT thing is NOT TO WAIT until you see rot. It is a preventative. The same substance is what stops blueberries rotting, it's natural. So in early flower, spray. Every week, spray. Otherwise as the bud builds up layers you get unprotected tissues inside and... ROT!
This is not 'bro science'. This is targeted chemistry. And it is CHEAP.

  4. Has it been tested in products that get dried, combusted, and inhaled though?

It's a GRAS category product. Found in many personal care products and on most soft fruits. And you can always rinse the bud if you want. Me, I'm a LOT more concerned about inhaling mould spores.
