Well, yesterday was my birthday. I wanted to buy myself a nice new glass bong, (current is acrylic and dirty lookin) and had $70 to drop on it. Now, the only problem is, the only good headshops around here, are only open on the weekends. I, being the impatient fuck that I am, go to a lesser-quality one that was recently raided by the DEA and banned from selling bongs. I found some pretty nice bongs there, but they were all sold in hookah format- Where your mouth normally goes, it a glass lift off bowl, and where the stem of the bowl goes, is a nasty looking rubber hose. I opt out of that and sintead look at their spoons. Long story shorty, I ended up buying a fat ass spoon (bout six inches long, two wide) with a bowl that will hold a couple grams. It's a beautiful piece, but it was $68. I normally don't get cash too often, and I was raised to be frugal. My question is- Was the impulse decision worth it, when I could've gotten a bong just a couple days later? Or should I be glad that I, for once, splurged on myself?
Do you already have any other pieces? Because it's always nice to have variety, but if I was only going to have one glass piece I'd opt for a spoon over a bong. If you like the piece then it seems worth it to me, eventually you'll have more money and you can go get yourself a nice glass bong. I know how you feel though, I'm impatient too, and always end up rethinking my spur-of-the-moment decisions.
