  7. and me what? I have actually set up a donation for this weekend to donate all clothes people have and partnered with a local business to ship pallets of clothing and bedding stuff on their dime. Will be going around to all local garage sales to either buy lots or ask for donations to send to the victims. And yes, I've also sent money to a foundation as well, however, I'm not trying to virtue signal at all. My point was that the president didn't have to do this but he did. There is no call for all the hatred that is so misplaced over this. It really just shows the level of maturity if nothing else, or, obviously the depths that T.D.S. has caught on with some. Its sad really, but these responses were entirely predictable.

Leftists HATE That Trump Is Donating $1 MILLION To Harvey Victims

  8. Not a question of hatred..He is just such a predictable liar and cheat..Bet he will make a bundle (publicity) on many of his ventures by touting his donation..and let's not forget he will NOT put his many holdings into a blind trust as was recommended to him.

BTW..I am not a liberal..Independents and Liberals are quite different..I do not vote for parties..I vote for people!!

I do applaud your own efforts in getting some help to those in need! clapping.gif

  10. Selective reading?? I stated that he was in it for the Publicity and to make $$..I applauded your efforrts, since they appear to be selfless and in good faith..Trump has no idea what good faith is!

In another thread long ago, I mentioned that back in the days that he owned Casinos in A.C.; I had the Mis-Fortune of dealing with him. I ran a division of a large slot machine company that had a product he was interested in..He attempted to strong arm me in the negotiations and failed..His answer was to attempt to have me fired (sound familiar?) and then blame all on his subordinates (again..sound familiar?)

In the end he surrendered and bought our product at MY price..
He was a Jerk then and a bigger Jerk now;)

  12. If you want to see a predictable statement, it's the one where people think him donating money is actually about him being a nice guy...WRONG!!!

Buzzer is absolutely right about the perspective. Trump will gloat and strut his smirk across the country, reminding everyone of that time he donated "$1M" (which is a small loan by his own words) and keep them happily ignorant that he still cut the Dept of Education's budget by $2.4 BILLION and then donated a mere $78,333 to the STEM Program and HE DOESN'T EVEN SUPPORT SCIENTIFIC FACTS!

Everything this man has ever done in his life is stand on the backs of others to lift himself onto a higher pedestal of bullshit for idolatry. He only views the world as transactions and dollars and has no intentions of ever "serving the people."

Yea, he's the POTUS for now. But you still have to earn respect to get respect, and he has no respect for anyone but himself.

  13. I'm all for donation. Let him do it, but as I said before... Much of his "own" money came from underpaying for labor, not paying his creditors and contractors. Even so it's good that this money may help people in the end. But to praise him for ripping off others in the process doesn't make a lot of sense.

  14. On Thursday, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters that President Trump would donate $1 million of his “personal money” to Hurricane Harvey victims. But on Friday, she wasn’t so sure.
Asked by a reporter if she knew whether Trump’s donation would be “coming from his own money or from the Trump Foundation,” Sanders dodged. “I haven’t had a chance to do that,” she said, suggesting she hadn’t yet had a chance to ask the president where the money would be coming from.

  16. White House walks back promise about Trump donating his ‘personal money’ to Harvey victims – ThinkProgress

Yeah that took a while.... Another day another lie.

“After calling 420-plus charities with some connection to Trump, The Post found only one personal gift from Trump between 2008 and the spring of this year,” Fahrenthold added. “That was a gift to the Police Athletic League of New York City, in 2009. It was worth less than $10,000.”

And even if Trump does donate $1 million of personal wealth, his contribution represents a pittance in relation to the drastic cuts he’s proposing in environmental and disaster relief programs.
