idk it depends there are some people in the military who know better than to attack civilians. plus there are alot of militias made of veterans who see how corrupt shit is.
It could TOTALLY work. Govts powerless without the military. How many fucking military men are gunna choose govt or there families and country men?

The issues with peaceful protests is that they expect the person with power to simply hand over the power or the specific laws that they want.. Powerful people will NEVER give up there shit by choice.
If it happened, I think it could be successful. The rebellion would need to find a way to get the government/military to start shooting civilians first though. Once that happens, more people would be sympathetic to the cause, and a lot of current military members would switch sides, or at least that's how I think it would need to happen.
