Illinois has recently legalized home grow for medical patients, and my landlord is cool with me growing my own plant in a tent as long as it doesnt smell up my building! Here is my load out so far as I'm planning on going with a single plant to gain some experience. Tent: Vivosun 36x36x72(hopefully shows up without any rips) Light: Mars Hydro Ts1000 Inline fan: Ac Infinity t4, not sure which filter as I've heard the t4 has trouble keeping negative pressure with a scrubber attached Nutrients: Nectar of the Gods Medium: soil (Have a bag of happy frog from Fox Farms to start the seed in a cup but dont know where to go from there to transfer) Still need to buy a cool mist humidifier and or dehumidifier for trying to keep things in check as my tent will be in my living room. Any hints, tips or tricks would be incredible. Thank you for reading!
I run soil i start in happy frog , same . But at transplant i run a mix of Oceanforest, Happy Frog and roots organic original with 25% perlite Also i run a 6" exhaust with charcoal filter in a 96 x 48 x 80 tent with lower intakes open without issue on negative pressure and smell Some smell when tent is open during heavy flower which is unavoidable What type of plants are you going to grow Autoflower or photoperiod ? Ac infinity is the shit , especially if you get climate control ! Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
I was literally just telling a bud thank you for suggesting the T4 to me. I've been running it for a few months now and I f'n love it! I have it at 50% power, hard ducted to a 6" Phresh filter. My 4x4 stays in the 70's with the ambient winter time house temps. CANNOT hear this fan running when the door to that room is closed!
I just started a similar thread with a lot of helpful replies that may be of use to you. First time grower and medical user, trying to create a shopping list also. Sent from my SM-G930F using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Eventually also you will want to upgrade from Mars to Horticulture lighting group. I am about to upgrade my inline fans to infinities.
first step . look at the breaker box , how many fuses are in there ? Most apartments only have 2 ! meaning you must check the gage wire to the fuse box . If you have an electric stove your prob good .You can easily pull both fuses throw in 4 gage and wire it 2 a junction box where it will have more fuses and 220 along with 110 . or plug in extension cords risk fire and killing everybody in the apartment for some weed along with 50 year in prison . sorry but i see homes and apartments burning a lot around here
This is a good point. You should really add up your amperage load in total and figure out what you have drawing from the tent in whole. Then look at the box to see what’s going on there. I can run my tent with all my can lights, tv and sound bar/sub woofer running but when I finished my basement I went 20 amp circuits per room and everything is led. You defiantly want to be conscientious about the others living around you. A food rule of thumb is not using more then 75% of the available load. So for a 20amp breaker that’s 15 amps total. Most circuits will be 15a and that leaves you with 12 amps total use. I think my 320 watt hlg on its own uses 4 amps and then the small fans, in-line fan, two small heaters and humidifier probably another 1.5 for reference. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks for the response! I plan on running photo plants, and do you think a t4 ac infinity could keep a good negative pressure on a 3x3 even with the filter on or should I just get the t6? And for my soil i will start with happy frog but i want to transplant into a 50/50 soil perlite mix so i might do something like you but with a little more perlite in the mix haha
I appreciate the heads up! My apartment has a breaker box with 4 or 5 switches in it. Is this what your talking about? At work now but I'll check for specifics when I get home!
Yes t4 A t6 in a 3x3 would implode the tent without the vents open all the time And if you run photos you'll have to shut the vents to block out light for your dark period Unless you run like a t6 with a 6" diameter say like 4-5 long flex hose for intake in another circular holes to avoid light leaks Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
you should be good to go . im sure its set up correctly with the wiring to the box . have fun keep us posted with your grow
Sweet, I'll be getting the t4 with climate control. As for the filter I was thinking 4x16 terrabloom. For my intake filters I plan on running some ducting instead of just the flaps on the bottom to avoid light coming in from there either way!
Sounds like a plan , Like most of us i guarantee you will be spending all your free time (at least while the lights are on) working and fine tuning your set up . Hahaha Happy growing man Stay lifted . Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
Im a medical patient in Illinois. You got seeds yet? Im growing myself first time. Nice to meet you Mikey! Sent from my SM-G965U using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Thank you!! And I've got 2 White 99 seeds that look decent and 3 northern lights seeds I got from a friend so I'm not sure the breeder, if they're femenized, nothin hahaha so part of me wants to either order some fem seeds to try not to waste an attempt with a random seed lol
Thats what I did. Ordered feminized a few months back. Want to start the crop out right. Sour Diesel and Durban Poison. Good luck! Sent from my SM-G965U using Grasscity Forum mobile app
What are you using for your medium/nutes? Im thinking of doing the mix of happy frog and ocean forest/ 25% perlite for the 5gal transfer. I'll probably start with straight happy frog in a solo unless anybody has a reasonable alternative hahaha I would love to learn about living soil
