preparing your 2012/2013 harvests

  1. Howdy blades. This season has been good for me :D.

I figured I would start up a thread for us to learn from one another being it from any point of view, processing to skinning preserving meats and game recipies. All of my harvests have my face in them so I will take new pics. We all know the basics so I will start out this thread with regular updates on hair on hide tanning. And then coyotes, preparing ducks.

I'm going to start tanning this small buck skin early in the am and will update with pics if anyone is interested in a step by step process. And we can keep it rolling from there. So let's learn from one another and if this is not your thing then don't come here as there will be pics of harvested and skinned game.

Hope you guys have had success this season and let's have fun with this.

Tomorrow I will take pics and walk you through turning that old deer skin or coyote hide and tan it into a soft thick skin to be proud of. But until I get my end going feel free to post your harvests from this year. After the tanning process I will show you how I cook my best venison supper of cubed deer steaks, chicken fried with venison gravy, biscuits, fried taters and beans. This should be fun. And again, let's learn from one another as we go and have fun
