Preparing to germinate again - is there anything I missed?

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by AloeRuss, Dec 20, 2012.

  1. Hi all

Getting 5 out of 12 sent me back to the books and videos to find what I did wrong. I found a list.
Root size befor planting was too short, PH level in my water was 6.8 but I added B vitamin to it, temperature in the room while germinating was around 70, possibly having them under a dome too long.

I need to germinate 6 more and I need to hit a 100, which most of you do anyway.
Also, this time I am buying a germination mat that will keep constant 82 degrees to help them sprout.

I will go straight to paper towel and wait until they all have at least an inch root out.
I will damp coco with water without any vitamins (just my normal filter, room temperature water)
Will plant the seed root down into a half full 32oz cup.
Will leave head of the seed uncovered by the soil so I can monitor its progress and allow easier sprout
Water around it some more and set it on the warming mat, cover with the dome and put the light about 2 inches away.

    And Pray.
Do you guys think I missed anything? Please let me know. I cant loose this ones.
    Thank you

  2. I would cover the germinated seeds completely with soil but only plant 1/2" deep (with root facing down)

Don't over water and make sure your mat has a thermostat with the sensor in the soil...some can get way too hot ...if using a dome make sure the vent holes are open a little...

Most important....leave them alone after planting...be patient...

  3. may the pot gods be with you..to me germing is the most nerve wracking part

  4. Yes, it is.

    Thank you mate.

  5. i get a clear shot glass and put about 3/4 full of h20, then i take my seeds and gently place them on the top of the water. They float if there good. They will float there until they split open. Dont never push them under water. The seeds will float the whole time even after they bust open . If they are dead seeds they will sink and if you push them under they will sink, if u sink them they dont sprout. This has never ever failed me and i have never had any trouble other than installer error. i buy my seeds from attitude seed bank. The fresh ones split open in about 2 to 3 days , some older ones take a few days more.

  6. I promise you guys this is fail proof unless you cause it. when the little sprout comes out put her in the soil.
try it! you like this way when you do.
