6" tall by 9" wide pot regular backyard loamy soil (should i use some 10-10-10 from the beginning to help it grow better?) one 1040 lumen soft white bulb in a desklamp. Is this an optimal setup to grow?
That incandescent won't put out very much light....they have more of a 'flowering' colour spectrum not vegitative...although they'll still produce a plant, but it will be a weak one...i suggest buying a 20w CFL atleast, they don't cost much and they will do alot more than your incandescent. 'Cool whites' for vegitative and 'Warm whites' for flowering. I'm not sure about Soft whites Did you take that soil straight out of your garden? if so, BIG NO NO! If you're going to take soil directly from your garden you have to always, if you want parasite-free soil, bake it in your oven for (not sure how long) on 300degrees(i think. would be alot better to read up on it) or just save a whole lotta trouble and buy a small bag of soil from a gardening store. You don't need any ferts till about 4 weeks after the plant has sprouted, you'll burn them otherwise...and it'll just stunt growth and potential.
try using some soil from lowes, usually $5, pick up at least 2-4 CFL's, decent one's at walmart $9 (2700Lumens 23W), also i suggest using fem seeds since its only one plant your going to grow in one pot
this fella has a point.... it's worth spending like a small amount of dough if you want a decent grow... and although feminized seeds cost alot, it would be worth buying one unless you want to spend a month or 2 taking good care of it then finding out it's a male
Theres just two things I hate in this world bush(both the president and low grade marijuana) and cheap growers spend some money dude and stop being cheap get a job stop being lazy get off your ass damn hippy(no offense)
