Prepareing Next Years Soil

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Outdoors' started by RooRMike, Sep 16, 2007.

  1. So this season I didn't have much luck on my first outdoor attempt. I planted about 18 seeds, some started to grow but didn't make it. So next year I'm going to get it working right and I need some tips on how to prepare my soil for next year.

What I already have in mind is to go catch some fish, then dig a hole, put the fish in the whole, and fill it with this soil I got from the garden shop. I've heard that doing this early will let the fish break down and fert the soil for next season.

Any other tips I could use to prep my grow for next season? Thanks alot.

  2. Id spend my time starting a compost pile in the backyard somewhere to prepare for many many years of paying off in the future. If you dont already have one, compost piles are great for so many things.

  3. Actually if you plan ahead far enough (1 year) there's another way to do a garden bed that doesn't involve any digging of holes or carting soil anywhere. It's called Lasagna gardening because of the layering of newspaper, compost, peat moss, etc...

Here's a link. I've done it on a small scale, right on top of sod, and it's worked really well.
