pre-flowering question

  1. this is my first grow.. quick question

I have a plant roughly about 38 inches.. its kind of stretched out due to negligence during the very beginning of vegetative stage... its in a 3 gallon pot sitting in miracle-gro potting soil.. I planted it back in october, but for most of its life it was on tube fluorescents... I changed the lights to 12/12 way back in December while it was under the tube fluorescents. right after the new year, around january 4th or so, i noticed some little white hairs coming out near the tops of the plant.. I purchased a 400W metal halide light on january 25th, and kept it on the 12/12... since i got the MH its started growing out more from the leaf nodes, and started many more bud spots.. all of them just have the 3 or 4 little white hairs on them and the nodes from which they sprouted...now, I just purchased a 400w HPS yesterday, and installed it this morning before the light switched on. can I expect the flowering to happen a lot faster now from the light change?

also, i really don't have a quality camera to take pictures... just my phone.
    help please!

  3. ohhh by the way those pics are from 3 days on 400w metal halide... this was pre-HPS

  4. of course ..but you just have to wait its a process ..you need patients and right foods,,,,,i might be a lil high but did i read you say that you had them on 12 12 with a mh bulb ... and your plants do look a lil steched ....

  5. you read it right... i had it on 12 12 with a mh for about a week. I figured it was better than the fluorescent haha.. but now I have it on a HPS. also I have another question.. what type of food should I give it now that its flowering? and I have it in a small 3 gallon bucket.. should I move it to a bigger pot?

  6. of course bigger bucket bigger roots makes bigger plants...and for flowering foods the flora nova bloom is great for the n-p-k...and for micro nutes use floraliciouse and for the p-k spike monster bloom ...this is what im using and its a pritty popular brand lots of people use these..you will need al threefor a god grow but ive seen crazzy shit grown just with the nova bloom and not all the extra ....its up to you ......youll seee great results...you should spray som carbon water on them they wont mind eather its almost the same as co2 not really but it works

  7. The bucket is pretty small.. its about 6x6 or 7x7 inches.. i imagine the roots are all tangled and intertwined. I want to move it to a new bucket, I think i'm gonna tomorrow... but I really don't want it to get too much taller. I don't think it will though. I'll probably get the flora nova in a few days to start using it. and for having the HPS on this thing for the past 3 days I can see some major differences in sticky white hair production and growth.

I've also trimmed a few fan leaves to give more light to bud spots. Is there anything bad about taking the fan leaves i've trimmed off and putting them in the soil? a friend told me he used to do this, but I was just wondering if it makes any difference.

  8. CUTING FAN leaves is good and bad i do it all the time cus they always the light from going to the main stem or the bud spots ..ive read the fan leaves is a reseviour for sugars and carbs that the plants use when needed so its also bad to cut to many fan leaves..as for the foods is not mandatory to buy everything just a simple bloom ..and for your last couple weeks of flowering maybe a pk spike like a monster bloom or liquid bloom ...but not mandatory if theres a budget ..as for hight if you transplant them they will grow more but after a month in a half of flowering they stop vigoursly growing they consentrate on bud growth if anything tigh string to those two branches and LST those puppy start to strech the branches to the side..
