How's it going fellow blades? Just a quick question. What does ppm stand for? I hear people refer to it when they're talking about watering their plants but I don't have a clue as to what it means.
Parts per million, Its a hydroponics term used to define the amount of nutrients and dissolved/suspended solids in the water. One type of meter reads in ppm's the other type of meter reads in electrical conductivity of the dissolved solids. The higher the reading, the more constituents are present in the water. A helpful tool used in hydro to determine when to fertilize and when to add plain water.
