First time grower having some problems , I’m doing a 1 5 gal Dwc .. my temps are 77 degrees / humidity about 72 and water temperature Iv been trying to get down to at lease 66.. my ph and ppm keep rising at first the ppm was going down then idk what happen
how and what are you using to ph down what kind of water are you using what stage growth /so you determine what ppm you should be at there is a ton of what you arent saying, the other thread you have politly asked for more info ,why no difrence on this one,you cant even try to get help if you dont plan to listen. so enough said ,id start with what i wrote above ,but that just me
What's your ppm and pH read at? How old is the plant, what nutrients are you using? Are you just doing a solo bucket with no other reservoir? Does it have an air stone? What's your tap water read before fixing? Just in general, your humidity sounds high. With out any picture or further information, it is really hard to say anything about your situation.
The ph is now at 5.82 the ppm changed literally every time I put the stick in I’m starting to think it’s the meter I’m using the ppm was at 300 and some change but it’s changes , it’s a solo bucket / 2 air stones … where should the humidity be then ? And the temp is 75 / what kinda of pictures do you need ? I got the water temp down to 69 atm oh and house of garden nutes
Think your water looks really high, when I do dwc, the top is dry. Looks like it's doing alright there despite having not enough air/dry space. the ppm will fluctuate especially if you don't understand about stabilizing water using acids and bases. Which is fine, plenty of people grow dwc without an understanding of making stable solutions. Don't worry about it being in dry rocks. Your supposed to have the water a couple inch's below the bottom of your media basket with the bubbles popping and spattering the bottom. So you understand you will be wanting to up your ppm as it gets bigger right? Probably at that stage I would be moving up to 500 ppm on a .5 pen. Your pH sounds good.
Air / dry space ?should I get this hydro logic stealth ro ? And yes I understand as it grows the ppm get higher should I take some water out the bucket
What's your ppm of your tap water? Mine here is rather low, 28ppm so even though I have a RO, I don't use it, no need. As long as you have decent tap water, I wouldn't worry that much about RO. Yah, like air/dry space like area in the pot/media which isn't fully saturated full of water, space for the plant to have. Then it can drink when it wants to with its roots dangling into the water, the media doesn't want to be water logged, the plant will find the water. So my guess is yes, you'll want to lower your water level. While you can check your water, don't go changing it everyday, let the plant spend some time working on what you put together. As stated the level should be a inch lower than the bottom of your media net pot.
The ppm on the tap water is 52 , so I shouldn’t get the Ro ? It’s kinda cheap like 80 bucks when it cost like 250’
so if your water is 52,that gives you about 248 of actual food,250 is good at that stage by hannah chart,as mentioned 2 inch below the basket and do you use potassium bicarbonate to control your mix,i use it and hydrogard when i use my thrash can hydro outside,in summer months those ph and ppm are effected during the days heat,so your gonna have spikes ,day break is when i check and adjust if need be,during middle of day the sun get them plants to chowing down and by nightfall the ph and ppm has stablized ,there are way to tweek it in your favor, just doing it and failing most times is how you learn the tricks. honestly inside and in controlled envorment you shouldnt be having those issues, but as mentioned it is something to think about
Ok thank , the ppm is high right now at lease 300 something smh how should I bring it down or balance it .? I think ima get the RO just because it’s cheap af
Take ur water and put it in a jug and set outside for a day. Bakes out the crap. As u know I don't do dwc. My water is 550 ppms. Prolly good that I'm a soul guy Sent from my SM-N960U using Grasscity Forum mobile app
I use 550 ppm water. U will need more calcium and mag. U will be taking that out with ro Sent from my SM-N960U using Grasscity Forum mobile app
I don't think it's ur problem. How do all the bushes outside in your yard and everywhere look every year do they look unhappy or are they nice and green? I live in a place called Desert Hot Springs. We have a shit ton of minerals in the water but I almost think it's a good thing I've grown some of the prettiest weed outdoors and indoors with this same water. My current grow Sent from my SM-N960U using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Now what's a trip is they run electrolysis through the water. So all those minerals stick to copper pipe. Ends up clogging and eating the copper. Lol. Ive had like 12 pipe breaks. Has to replumb house with pex. It doesn't stick to that Sent from my SM-N960U using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Oh wow. Ya shit is popping ! And idk how the plants look lol I grow in my living room I just want a good grow and I’ll probably get it just to have it since it’s so cheap just something to have , I gotta change the bucket this wed so hopefully by then I get a better understanding of this ppm etc
as my plants mature i tried to use my tap water,it is 313 out the tap so the rest was feed i put in for a max of 1100 for mature plants. so 1100 minus the 313 equals 787 of actul feed i was putting in,with the tap water i was chasing a night mare, when i started using the ro water all that burden was lifted and i was able to keep a daily swing in tolerance, then i just used the hydro guard and bi carbonate . in a 33 gal thrash can outdoors there isnt much you can do,so changing res isnt there at all ,so you learn to feed and maintain your res without changing you water,in triple digit temps you will find that sweet spot and know how much swing you have and adjust from there
